Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Wordlane ("we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of wordlane.ai and its related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

  1. Scope, Acceptance & Eligibility. You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of legal capacity in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a company, institution, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
  2. Description of Service & AI Output Disclaimers. Wordlane provides automated software tools for text editing, rewriting, and stylistic analysis. Because automated language processing is probabilistic by nature, all rewritten text ("Outputs") and analysis indicators or scores are estimates only and may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or unintended phrasing. The Service does not provide legal, academic, regulatory, medical, or financial advice, and we do not guarantee any specific editorial, grading, publication, or third-party classification outcome. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and using any Output in compliance with applicable laws, institutional rules, and third-party policies.
  3. Accounts & Security. Certain features require an account authenticated via your email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your email account and session credentials and for all activity occurring under your account. Accounts and word balances are personal to you and may not be shared, sold, or transferred.
  4. User Content, Ownership & License. As between you and Wordlane, you retain all ownership rights in the text you submit to the Service ("Input") and, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, receive all rights in the Outputs generated from your Input. Due to the nature of automated text processing, Outputs may not be unique across users. You grant Wordlane a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, and transmit your Input and Output solely as needed to provide, secure, and maintain the Service, enforce these Terms. Your Input and Output are not used to train models. You represent and warrant that you hold all necessary rights and permissions to submit your Input and that doing so does not violate any law or third-party intellectual property, privacy, or confidentiality right.
  5. Acceptable Use & Intellectual Property Protection. All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service (excluding your Input and Output), including its software, user interface, trademarks, and proprietary methods, remain the exclusive property of Wordlane. You agree not to:
    • Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, deceptive, abusive, or harmful, or that violates third-party rights;
    • Circumvent or attempt to bypass word quotas, rate limits, authentication, bot-verification checks, or security controls;
    • Access the Service through unauthorized automated scripts, scrapers, or bulk extraction tools, or interfere with the integrity or availability of the Service; or
    • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, probe, or attempt to extract or replicate the underlying software, algorithms, system instructions, scoring methodologies, or trade secrets of the Service.
  6. Plans, Word Credits, Subscriptions & Right of Withdrawal.
    • Billing & Auto-Renewal: Paid subscriptions (monthly or annual) and one-time word packs are billed in advance at the prices and in the currency displayed at checkout, plus applicable taxes. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled before the renewal date through your account billing settings.
    • Word Credits: Recurring subscription word allowances apply to the active billing period and reset upon renewal; one-time word packs do not auto-renew. Word credits are digital service units with no cash value, are non-transferable, and are deducted based on input word volume processed.
    • Cancellation & Statutory Right of Withdrawal: You may cancel a subscription at any time in your account billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. If you purchase as a consumer in the European Union, EEA, or United Kingdom, you have a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason, except where supply of digital content or immediate provisioning and use of word credits begins at your express request and acknowledgment that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal once performance has begun. Except as required by mandatory law, consumed credits and elapsed billing periods are non-refundable.
  7. Suspension, Termination & Service Changes. You may stop using the Service at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access immediately if you materially breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive activity, or create security or legal exposure for the Service. We may modify features, capacities, or prospective pricing as the Service evolves; material changes to recurring subscription pricing or to these Terms will be communicated in advance where required by applicable law.
  8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability. Except as expressly required by mandatory law, the Service and all Outputs are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wordlane and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or academic or professional standing arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wordlane's total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount paid by you to Wordlane during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) EUR 50 (or USD 50). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory statutory consumer rights.
  9. General Provisions, Severability & Contact. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Wordlane regarding the Service. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision will not constitute a waiver. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply unaffected.
